Hello, My name is Beth Rippl and I am the Owner/Designer of Beth Louise Designs. I live in the Frozen Tundra of Wisconsin with my husband Carl. We have two grown children, Emily & Chaz, and a beautiful 4 year old granddaughter, Taleeya. I have a fashion design background, love to sew and have been doing so since childhood.
I started my first craft business with my first company “My Crafts” in 1980. Since then I have been hooked on all sorts of arts and crafts. A few years ago I came across an old wool sweater that was so beautiful it was hard to give up, so I read about felting wool and items you can make out of felted wool. I started with mittens! I love to create mittens with all different colors, textures, and types of wool sweater combinations and am passionate about using re-purposed materials in all aspect of my projects. The wool sweaters themselves come from a variety of sources. Even the fleece lining of the mittens are made with recycled plastic. The buttons are mostly of vintage origin, such as a Grandmother’s button tin, resale or thrift shops, and an old glass button factory in another part of the world. That was the start of “Beth Louise Designs”.
I have since expanded my product offerings, to include hats, scarves, pillows, and pins all made with felted wool. In late 2012 I introduced a fingerless mitten design! They were an instant hit with my friends and customers.
Thank you for visiting my little paradise. I hope you find something you like on my site. Please feel free to leave me a comment or idea, I am interested in your thoughts. If you would like something custom made from a sweater you have, send me an email and I will get back to you.
